Devaux Mayfly

Kind of like a reverse Jingler;more of a softhackled dry fly. Based on Davie McPhail's video with a few changes in material and sequence (tying the tail first was much easier for me than trying to maneuver around all that hackle later). Notionally tied here as a flav; change color/size to suit your needs.

hook - Dai Riki 320 #12
thread - Danville 6/0 olive
tail - grizzly dyed olive
abdomen - turkey quill dyed olive
rear hackle - partridge dyed olive (1tbs Rit golden yellow, 1tsp Rit dark green, 1 cup water)
middle hackle - grizzly dyed olive
front hackle - dun

Fantastic! Your tying skills amaze me. ;)

I would love to fish this fly, and see how it rides. I imagine it rides as a recently emerged mayfly, but wit those seductive soft hackle "kickers" spreading out and dancing below the surface film.

I am reminded of a Datus Proper pattern.
