Don't really know why I never posted this pattern before, as it has produced fish for me in past years. The idea was to have something to offer near the end of the March Brown hatch when a slightly smaller and less yellow/orange fly started showing up -- one that the dry fly guys call the Grey Fox.

Hook: Daiichi 1550, Size #14
Thread: Pearsall's Gossamer #19 hot orange
Hackle: Grey partridge from neck area
Rib: Small flat gold tinsel
Body: 50/50 blend of hare's cheek and Hareline Hair's Ear dubbing spun in #19 silk

Neither can I (understand that you haven't showed this before). It's almost worthy of a post. I can hear it whisper 'come fishy,fishy'.

Great tie Bill! 8-) It looks like a year round producer to me.

tie2fish, Howdy;;

Mr. Bill, shouldn't be surprised at what shows up hanging in the jaws of your vise yet,
time after time I always am. Thank you Sir. Always a spark of expectation struck when
I see your handle with a fly's name attached to it. :D

Put a bunch of lead on that, add two Tung beads at the front and it'd be perfect :D :twisted:

I find when I do that to a fly, it takes an awful lot of floatant to keep it in the film.
