Nothing special, back to basics...

Post by fly_fischa » Sun Nov 26, 2017 5:27 am

Back to basics... I've been tying some fishing flies lately, filling depleted boxes.
Really enjoyed tying these lil PT'ish inspired soft hackles. It’s not a complex pattern but it reminded me how far I've come as a tier and how far I have to go...

Exceptional tie, Karsten. One of these days you should show us the machine that makes those perfectly spaced body and ribbing wraps for you ;) .

Wonderful tie that mimics so many mayflies. Great to have in any flybox!

Thank u Bill, I don’t own a machine like that just the fat sausage fingers I was given :?
If I did own a machine I’d sack it for doing a wonky wrap on the 4th wrap at the rear and a slightly wonky one at the second rib

Sorry Hank, the time difference always gets me, I’ll try to be more considerate in future ;)

Totally agree Roadkill, I wouldn’t be caught dead without a pheasant tail of some description or a gold ribbed hares ear :D

That'll never fish. Better tie up about 2 dozen, in size 16 and 14... send them my way.

Well done K.

Lovely wee fly. Well executed, imitative of so many bugs in our local waters. Going to have to get Vickie tying a few of these. Well done.
