upstatetrout, Howdy;

Beautiful job tying the fly. I'm curious, did you 'set' the hackle to bend enough to
support the fly in it's up right manner or is it natural? I ask because a former member,
Mike Connor, had mentioned the technique in one of his postings.

The hackle is wood cock under covert and is completely natural.No manipulation required if the hackle is
prepped and wound with care.The hackle is the first thing tied to the hook then the body is wound and then the hackle is wound.
