This is my soft hackle version of Lance Egan's Rainbow Warrior nymph.

I use a Dai Riki 070 #14 & omit the wing case to tie this in the round. I added two turns of a Medium Dun Whiting Hen Hackle to use this pattern as an emerger.

Elegant wee lure. Like it better than the original, which was a beadhead, if I remember correctly.

Beautiful pattern and excellent conversion. It looks like an effective searching pattern.

Your tinsel work is impeccable, by the way. ;)

I'm worse than a cat with a laser pen when it comes to being attracted to attractor patterns. Well done Bill.
I hate it when I think I'm buying organic vegetables, and when I get home I discover they are just regular donuts.

It certainly is. I like this version better than the original, too.

...I keep looking at the tinsel work. Beautiful.

Roadkill inspires me with his creative use of materials and use of beads in some of his flies. So I've been working on a pattern I can call mine and came up with this one. I'm calling it a Quill body, hot spot soft hackle. it obviously must be an attractor.

It got tested this week on the Crooked River. I did very well I might add. I sent this picture to Roadkill for some comments and critique, and he has given me some good suggestions for my continued work on this guy.

Ron,

I suggest that you tye two dozen of these, and send them to me for careful inspection. :D ;)

Maybe then I could provide suggestions for improvements. Until then, let me just say congratulations on creating a successful pattern. Great stuff!

That is a beauty to be sure. Hackle like that will virtually swim in the water.
