Here is my version of the SSE based on some materials I have on hand...

I subbed out: mirage tinsel for the body, Hare's ear Haretron for the abdomen, a spectral blend for the shroud and some old spotted hen hackle I got years ago from Dave McNeese.

They are ready for the flyboxes...

Beautiful flies. The fly holder block is so much better than my bench full of wine corks. There's Birdseye Maple out in the shop just begging to be turned into one of these.

...you think maybe there's a correlation between my scorched earth bench and all of those corks?
