I like the look of the spiders. One question, because they are tied on a very light wire hook, how do you get them down in the water column when fishing them? Whenever I tie a softy on a TMC 100 or 101, it seems I end up with a film floater unless I put a fine strip of lead in as an underbody, which seems to defeat the purpose of using a fine wire hook.

Yeah, these would be film floaters. To get them down, I would just add split shot to my leader. I don't really worry about what hooks I use most of the time other than for body profile. I chose the TMC 100 for these to get that nice slim body.
