I really like that fly!!! Awesome looking. It's like a new version of a soft hackle pheasant tail fly. I have never seen a fly with pheasant tail herl used as a ribbing before, but I have a feeling I'm going to start seeing it done on some of the flies I tie.

On my screen, the starling almost looks like it was slightly bleached.

Skin looks like a female, a little muted in color compared to others I have

I fish a lot of "herl" bodied flies... turkey, pheasant, and any other bird I can come by. Using DUBBN's idea of adding UV resin to the body makes for a durable fly, with the benefits of the herl rib...
Yours by the way for sure tasty to the trout in my neighborhood.
