Here is an old fly from the Yorkshire Dales.
Hends BL599 size 14 hook. Uni-thread 8/0 purple underbody with peacock herl over wrapped followed by hackle from the underwing of a coot. Finished off with peacock herl head.

Oh, Man! That's about the prettiest Smoke fly I've seen in many years. Absolutely beautiful. Gorgeous photo as well.

You guys are killer with this venerable pattern! Absolutely beautiful on both! The Smoke Fly is a very old pattern but it still works just as well today!
