lean mean Wolverine
Roadkill gifted me a nice piece of that Wolverine he posted about recently. After playing around with it a bit, I've come up with a couple flies to put it to use... These are both March Browns... stripped peacock quill bodies, Roadkill's spectral blend thorax, and Wolverine hair hackles.
I think I'll find some more use for that patch of fur, Thanks Bill.

I use to tie something similar using Fisher.
Not in the league of these flies. Well done!

They are lovely.
They look like the hair hackle was tied in tips forward with a distribution wrap.
Tie in the quill and dub.
Push/stroke the hair back and finish with a head ?
There's a Fisher in the hills here but a wolverine?
Mean critters.

Those are awesome looking, and I like the one on the left the best. It doesn't even look like fur.
Re: lean mean Wolverine
thanks for the encouragement... the hackles were done in a dubbing loop after gathering a clump in the new Swiss Clamp...I left a bit of the underfur on the clump to add a little depth..
Re: lean mean Wolverine
Boy, Did I get that wrong.
I thought the Swiss clamp was just another high $$$ bulldog and never really looked at one.
Well, I just did and now I want one. Anyone want a set of Stonfo clamps?
Thank you, Ron.

Looking at the hackle made with fur, man, I would never have thought that was possible. I would have thought that if it could be done, it would be frowned upon for some reason or another, but WOW! Those are excellent looking flies.
This just opens up another page of what you can do if your imagination takes you there. Well done ronr.
