Is there any trout in that part of New Mexico, or will you be traveling quite a bit?

Wayne, I hope they do as well. Be sure to take us all along on the ride.
But don't leave us in the lurch.... we need details. They look great, but what is the hook and materials you used?
The hook looks to be a Mustad heavy wire, but you have a nasty habit of posting photos of #22 flies on tiny hooks that look like perfect scale models of what I can manage on a good day on #14 hooks.

Yep, ... got trout and do have to travel.
The trouts we have are West of me just North of Silver City
up along the Gila River and the San Francisco River. The Gila has
a local sub-species refered to as Gila trout. They carry a Yellowish
'Slash' like a cutthroat,"Dark olive backs that shade to a golden yellow
belly." (quote from the N.M. Fishin' rules & regs.). N.M record is 4# 8 oz.
20" long and girth of 13 3/4". There are also Rainbows and Browns up at
the San Juan, some stockers in the Rio Grande as well as some (State Fish),
Rio Grande Cutthroat. Otherwise I fish warm water species close by.
The distance I'd have to travel is about 120 miles one-way. so this is yet
another reason I plan to get a cargo trailer and convert it to a fishin' cabin
on wheels. It's to work intensive to breakdown the 5th wheel for a weekend
or overnight excursion then set it all back up when I return. It dosen't have to
be fancy, just sound and secure.

Jeff, I have Cream, Barred Cream, and Honey Dun, hen capes. I was trying to see which I liked best. After tying two off each cape, I decided there was not enough difference to worry about it. These are the hen capes nobody wanted, so I decided to put them to good use.

Thread - UNI 8/0 Tan
Abdomen - Orange Coats & Clark sewing thread
Thorax - Cream Hare underfur mixed with Hareline Cream Dubbing
Collar - Hen Hackle

Thanks Wayne, refreshing to see you tying a size I am familiar with.
The third cape would be closest to the colouration I have been using- although a little bolder in the ginger than mine.
