Hi Scott, Impressive tie showing great control of materials. Any tips on getting the smooth body taper while tying in wing hair?

Thanks all. Here's the tying sequence for body/wing

dub thread/dub first segment

clean, stack (optional), measure (tips to tail) a sparse clump of deer hair; trim butts/tie in

repeat

'til you run out of hook (4 segments on this one)

And the full SBS. Tying in installments seems to make it easier to create the taper; just add a little bit more material (dubbing and deer hair) for each successive segment.

Scott

ScottP, Howdy;

Thanks for the mini SBS and link to the full SBS.
Those always make it easier to understand the process.
For me, ... very much appreciated.

Thank you.

Superb tutorial Scott. Thank you for sharing. It's always nice to see the underlying construction.

You need to right a book. (and put me down for a first edition)
