Carl, this entire thread has really be a joy to read. Thanks so much for the beautiful fly and for kicking off one of the best threads on the forum.
John, this is a sweet fly. One I think we've discussed and I love seeing these on the double hook. Dadus Proper describes fishing with Vince Marinaro on the Letort and enjoying him putting aside the dries and taking trout with the double hooked Greenwell. I can see why. (where did I read that?)

Carl - The flies are simply magnificent. I am tempted to make your latest Greenwell pattern my computer wallpaper...
What a great thread.

Okay, I'm gonna have to ask, what is that wee double hook? What is the wing? A recipe would be good too...now that I think of it.
daringduffer wrote:Absolutely beautiful flies. I bet Kelly will go through the roof when she sees that "wee double hook". The "keel effect" should be responsible for how it swims.

This has been an excellent string.
The new "winged wet flies" section is fully justified.

Carl, I'm so glad to see this thread back up top. Beautifully done and the wee double tied by John is so cool to see again. Donald, I believe you're right where these types of flies are concerned. Simple, honest and an excellent imitation.

I don't know how many times I've visited this thread, probably not enough to be honest.
Just a great thread.

Here is another one. Just to add some eye candy. I think I may have posted this in the Lodge at one time, but thought I would add it here.
