no bronze herl used. just the good old greenish herl fron a peacock eye stick

I thought the herl was bronze too, Greg.
Don't know if it's true, but I heard if you left green herl on a window sill in the sun it would "bleach"
and turn bronze.

This is a fly that's been on my list to tie for a while. I would like to be able to tie it for the expo this year.
As for the herl in the sunlight, I will try that as well.

as an experiment, i stapled a bunch of peacock herl to my deck for 3 months in the sun to see if they would turn bronze
nope didnt change color whatsoever
