Interesting subject. I have many different pliers but have found the Bull Dogs suit me fine the best. When I first started to go to the Catskill's I saw that Mary and Joe Fox were both using the BG's. I was able to snag a pair somewhere then a friend that worked in a hospital got me three more sets....

Those of you know me know I will search the world and wait for material that is hard to come by materialize . Last night after waiting about 15 years I have scored a card of 477 at a very reasonable price.

I also spent part of my weekend researching euro nymph fly rods. They range in price from around $170 to $950 for the Sage ESN euro nymph fly rod. I have used them for years, before Allen published his book. Joe Fox told me that Mary used them on quill bodies. I have used them on quill bodies and horse hair.

I have used them on hackle but the results were not great. It's something I only pursue using them when I'm messing around.
