How do you get the silk to sit so flat? Do you unwind it a bit so the strands partly seperate?

Nice fly Jeff. Is the hook eye an experimental thing or did it just take your fancy. I've seen salmon flies done that way without hook eyes. How did you photograph this fly? Reminds me of Lance's images.

That's a great looking fly 2fish. Nicely proportioned case, the taper and curve is perfect. The buggy legs and antenae are also really good too, good work.
