Re: Hackle?

Thanks Donald, that's an educational list for me.

I'll keep that in mind Jeff.

I've sent the list the various offspring... lets hope it yields some result other than socks & undies...

Re: Hackle?

I've been having a quick look around at the links mentioned and others. One more question, what's the difference between "brahma" and "cree", or what do they each denote?

Re: Hackle?

Thanks for the reply Jeff. They are a pretty good bunch and I'm happy to say I'd choose them as friends anytime, underwear threats notwithstanding! Should a hen hackle be from the saddle or cape? Also are the graded by size or is it pot luck and typically a hen hackle have greater size variation? Ca...

Re: Silk & Wax

What hackle feather did you use Jeff?

How do you get the silk to sit so flat? Do you unwind it a bit so the strands partly seperate?

Re: POC Fly

Nice fly Jeff. Is the hook eye an experimental thing or did it just take your fancy. I've seen salmon flies done that way without hook eyes. How did you photograph this fly? Reminds me of Lance's images.

Re: Soft Hackle Caddis Worm

That's a great looking fly 2fish. Nicely proportioned case, the taper and curve is perfect. The buggy legs and antenae are also really good too, good work.

Re: Four Variations

Very nice, Lance. The colour blends and textures have a natural and attractive appearance. You're obviously a good observer and a master with colours and tones.
