Re: Sith's soft hackles
Those are some great looking flies! I really like the sasaki kebari. Also really like those Akita hooks. The price, about $2.50 USD per 25, is also very nice. A large order would offset the $10 shipping. Hum.......

Re: Soft Hackle Streamers
Thanks guys! I wasn't thinking spey when I tied these, but that's really what they came out as. These will be targeting large brookies and salmon on the Rapid Rive in Maine in a couple of weeks. This spring I fished a nature mallard hackle and black dubbed body raccoon that took MANY large salmon on...

Soft Hackle Streamers
These two flies are the result of my mind wandering while I was tying some Raccoons for the upcoming fall season. Basically my stab at adapting the Grey and Black Ghost to the soft hackle format. They are both on #6 4x streamer hooks. Bodies are floss and tails/hackle are natural mallard flank. I'm ...

Re: Raycoon (variation of Skip Morris's Raccoon)
Just want to give the Raccoon a big thumbs up! I tied up couple in size six and couple in eight. No beads, 5-7 turn of lead under the body. Used black Hares ear plus for the body and partridge for both the tail and front hackle. This thing catches fish! A pile of brookies last night and a very nice ...

Re: beginner question -- tying on hackle
What I've found is that the "snapping" trick only works well with hen capes. Partridge, not so much. Doesn't work well with saddle feathers either. That's just my experience.
