Re: Moose & Grizzly

nice one norm. When I saw the title it reminded me of Boris saying "moose and squirrel". You should come up with a pattern based on that for us old Rocky and Bulwinkle fans.

Sorry about taking this one off on a tangent. I guess my mom dropped me on my head one too many times when I was young.

Re: Starling source...

I think in the past the three sources I've used are 1) Great Feathers, 2) Blue Ribbon and 3) back yard.

Last I bought was from Great Feathers and it was a good skin.

Re: Big Game Solar Collector

Back during the last millenium when I had a chance to sample a caddis hatch I was intrigued by the body colors of the newly "hatched" adults. They had a lime green body. I ended up fishing the hatch with a #18 lime green soft hackle equivalent.

Re: Big Game Solar Collector

That's a lot of caddis flies. By my estimation you will be able to tie 1760 flies with that. I applaud you for finally obtaining the title of "hoarder".

With the translucent body you should get great results.

Re: What color Pearsalls is this?

if you use rayon floss wrap an underbody of white thread. Otherwise the hook color will "bleed" thru and not allow the floss to shine.
