Re: Fishing Discoveries "Ladder Leader" system

For what it's worth, I attach leader sections with blood knots and just leave one of the tag ends long as a dropper.

Re: Hot-wire Prince Nymphs

The upper Arkansas just below Leadville at Hayden Meadows has been my go to spot this year. Major caddis hatches, some drakes, golden stones, baetis and, now, hoppers, beetles and ants. Re: Using Ski Wax (dubbing wax)

Dubbing wax in the little blue tubes with the yellow top made and sold by John Betts were SWIX cross-country ski wax. I know because I helped him fill a couple hundred of the tubes one day.

I hope you all enjoyed these. The Black Gnat doesn't match the pattern in the Leisenring and Hidy book. It looks more like a gray hackle peacock.

Re: Orvis Flymphs

I was just gifted a complete Orvis Flymph Selection by my friend Dr. Jim Mead, DVM. During this holiday season I'll try to get a closeup picture of each of the ten patterns. No brochure however. Jim also included an "Old Roan". He said that it had appeared in a Dan Bailey catalog back when...

Re: Can it get any worse?

I'll throw in my penny -- not a flymph. A beaded soft hackle or a bead head soft hackle is what I would call it.
