Re: Frank Sawyer's Nymphs
Variant recently gifted me a bit of 42 gauge wire, partridge hooks, and pheasant tail that measures the full 2.5 inches. Working with the wire is a _itch and having Oliver Edwards video tying the fly does make it easier sort of..Hopefully, I won't use up all the wire before I am able to tie a decent...

Re: Rust Brown & Birds
I'll speak up for Roadkill on this one....doubt he's checking the forum too regularly from the South of France....Just another of the hundreds of flies from Roadkills fertile mind. Plus, on any given day on the water, he'll tie on at least a dozen different ones to test. If you read this Bill, I hop...

Re: Red Fox Squirrel Nymph
Yep it is that time of year here too... In Dave Hughes's book "Fishing the Four Seasons", he recommends swinging the red fox squirrel nymph with the arrival of the Western March Browns. We've been seeing the beginnings of the hatch out here, but just haven't been able to hit the river at t...

Newriverspey's Coachman Variant redux
Everyone who participated in the most recent fly swap was graced with one of Newriverspey's Coachman Variant. Its a really unique variant which must have come from his fertile imagination. I've not been able to find a version of the Coachman that incorporates some of his touches. So, what is one to ...

Re: Hare Brain Emerger
Ray... I'm going to steal parts of this fly and one of Ohlie's flies "the c midge" and come up with a variant. I'm using Ohlie's body of a herl imbedded in resin with the white nano silk colored with a marker; and will use your peacock thorax and wing.... It will be closer to your fly with...
