Ron Eagle Elk wrote: Sat Jun 05, 2021 7:35 am Very nice, Alan. They look so lively when fished. What hook and size is that?
REE,

I tried to take some video of the spey fly in action. It was tough but I managed to get. I'll post it as soon as I upload it to youtube.

The hook is a #8, fly shack saber.

Ron Eagle Elk wrote: Thu May 27, 2021 6:00 pm Alan, That's lovely hackle. What are you using?
REE

They are rump feathers from ringneck pheasant. One is natural and the other dyed.

Re: Trout Spey

REE,

That first one is similar to the Irish may fly. They are used quite heavily in the lakes of Ireland.
The second one is a good choice not only for salmonids but I can see the bass family eating it.
What is the body of the tandem.

Re: March Brown

American woodcock is just fine. That fly works well and your tying matches that.

Re: Purple & Spruce

Mike,

I'm telling you purple loos good, and when you finally drift that fly you'll see what I mean.
Of course the hackle you used is spectacular and that will contribute to fly's success.

Nice work.
