Re: Blue Dun Hackle from Art of Tying the Wet Fly
That is so cool, Lance! Thanks for sharing that. If I clockwise the rib it's for durability and the long haul. After a few fish, the trapped dubbing is well chewed and flowing. Waters with snags and jams I'll go with something already shaggy with a counter rib. Flipping through the leaves of your fa...

Re: Polish Partridge and Hare Variations
That hot spot and hare is a great looking pattern! The scud style hook just cranks it up.
I sold all my survey stuff when I retired and still kicking myself for not keeping the
old oak flat map files I had. What a great way to repurpose!

Re: Pheasant wings
Classic fly brain there, chugbug!
I see them almost everyday and after 15 years, I'm still in awe when I watch them hunt.
absolutely amazing.

Re: New
Great post Wayne, and I'm glad you didn't keel over when you opened the spool of purple kryptonite Ken sent you. As far as that sighter wax goes, I stumbled across a euro guy fishing a back secondary channel last spring. Never saw anyone, much less footprints back there so it was a surprise. anyway....

I was thinking the same thing, Mike.
I miss Alan and Small Stream Reflections.
DUBBN, What did you use for the green body?
At first I thought it was tightly corded thread for a ribbed effect but now I'm not so sure...

Re: Still raining......
And yes, it's still raining. The first 12 days of the month and we've already had 5.5" of the stuff. It was pouring down at 5am this morning, too. If it ever lets up I'll go check the rain gauge. The damn lawn still thinks its May! ...irritating; I'm tired of mowing grass! Wait... it gets bett...

Re: Generic Caddis Pupa
I'm liking that, Wayne.
We have a great brown autumn sedge/October caddis hatch here in the next few weeks.
These guys are beasts and the last of our big bugs for the season and can be a size 10-2XL.
The pupa patterns I tie for them are somewhat drab but I just might bling it up a notch.
Well done!
