Re: Hen and Olive

That looks great; I couldn't find the tab to click on to order some!
Did you use those Polish Quills for the abdomen?

Thanks- Ken

Re: Tups Indispensable

Since the pictures of my flies didn't show the color of the 2 dubbings very well, I will add a picture of just the dubbings for you to compare. The 1 on the left, a bit darker with more orange.

Thanks again Bob & Kevin!

Re: Tups Indispensable

I was fortunate to receive 2 samples of Tups dubbing. One from Bob (joaniebo) and 1 from Kevin (NedZeppelin). One was a bit darker; with perhaps more of an orange tint. I tied some flies with each of the mixes, with the only difference being the dubbing. Of course, with my very limited photography s...

I appreciate the info. I have red Amnesia; I guess I need Chartreuse too!

If others are interested in the technique, look here:

Re: Shetland wool yarn

Bob,

I appreciate the photos. I will have to cut some up and put it in my little 70s-era seed/coffee mill.

Thanks- Ken

Re: Shetland wool yarn

Bob,

I'm familiar with the Oyster 290 as a substitute for the Killer Bug yarn. I have a lifetime supply and would love to see a fly you've tied using the cut up yarn as dubbing.

Thanks- Ken

Re: Black caddis

Newriverspey, Like the other members who responded to your post, I like this fly. I was surprised when I saw the picture; it's not what I expected to see when the title of the post was: Black Caddis. I was thinking, black body, black hackle--a mostly black fly. Does this pattern darken a lot when we...

Re: Hare an Hare

Extremely buggy looking; I like the look of the red/gold/green bead in the 1st picture.
