Re: Bug Gut Caddis

It's all about midges this time of year. Still, a size 16 Net Builder caddis can make a dandy attractor. I only managed 14 to 17 inch Browns on the Gunnison yesterday, but quantity can be a quality unto itself. If they weren't chowing down on a size 22 Money Midge, they were taking a dubbed or Bug G...

Re: Which Pheasant Tail ?

I am not seeing any photos. For me, I only use the 3 center feathers from the rooster . I have seen nymphs tyed with hen, but it didnt appeal to me.

Try them all. The fish will tell what they like to eat.

Re: Muskrat

Looks like they'd kill on October. They do Bob. Probably not as well as a Partridge and Orange, but being a confidence pattern for me, they always go on my line first. I also nymph with them. I am not saying anything about Trout Emergers (eggs) , but you never know. I prefer to think dead scuds. 😉

Re: Muskrat

DUBBN, I enjoyed your history with your muskrat dubbing! I have never run a trap line but I did eliminate some pack rats with some old trapper's leg hold traps in our old shack in the hills. ;) The muskrat dubbing in my photos was all from working with a logger friend of mine who trapped on the sid...
