Re: The Unspoken Nymph

This box started out yesterday as a place for my Stonefly Nymphs. There are two Black, Pats Rubber Legs in the upper left hand corner. I have a problem. https://i.postimg.cc/C5LhcMrD/242201268-4615515241813824-5369149836739016213-n.jpg I have always had the problem. https://i.postimg.cc/1tKR0VBs/new...

Re: Eurasian Plum

I like your pattern. I need a pellet gun to dispatch a couple annoying Eurasian Doves in the neighbors tree.

The Unspoken Nymph

A very successful pattern this past week on a Colorado Freestone river. In some flyfishing circles it is believed that by using this pattern, you are condemning five future generations to the underworld. This pattern can not and should not be viewed in its entirety. Like the Ark of the Covenant, mer...

Re: More Oct. Caddis

The Idaho and Washington trouts I have encountered during an October Caddis hatch prefer more muted colors. I used a burnt orange color and hit some of it with a brown marker to further subdue it. I would fish the one with the thread abdomen in a heartbeat. The ones that resemble a carrot fly may d...

More Oct. Caddis

Friday found me floating the Gunnison River. Near century temps put down most of the hatches. Still, nymphing in the morning, and swinging soft hackles in the afternoon had me in to enough fish to make me happy. About an hour before the float ended, an October Caddis landed on my sunglasses. It is t...

One day I will tell the story where I threatened to beat the hell out of Gary LaFontaine and his buddy over that pattern. In Butte Montana.
