Tattoo's are forever. In our culture and in our skin.
I have a granddaughter that has a rather large one on her thigh.
I am sure she will not be that last grand child to get "inked".
Pretty darn cool though that your daughter chose that fly for a tattoo.

Re: Breadcrust
Breadcrusts I've seen in the past had a body made from a split grouse tail feather with the feather barbs trimmed short. Gave a real spikey look to the body, very caddis like. I cheat!! http://www.flymphforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=9052&p=101733&hilit=FAUX#p101733 I cant help it! 😈😈😈

Re: Breadcrust
Gorgeous. Did you use Ruffed Grouse for the body?
I tie a faux Breadcrust, as I dont use alot of the grouse quil.
That is a great producing pattern on some of my local rivers, like the Roaring Fork..

not suggesting in any way that Norm should post fewer flies... just a curiosity question. I don't know the gentleman and was merely asking about his motives. We all tie and post for our own reasons.. the fellow that first taught me to tie, did so purely for the art, and was long beyond fishing them...

Re: Oversized Softhackle
No worries. I will use my imagination. :D I remember when we really had to do that!  My best producing Wooly Bugger , Sunday was a Olive Tail, Pecaock body. I used two of the largest Brahma hen neck feathers off an Olive dyed cape as the collar. I nymphed with them while floating the Mur...

Oversized Softhackle
If you have never used over sized soft hackle on Woolly Buggers, i highly recommend trying it. Rooster Pheasant Church Window feathers, the largest hackles on hen capes and saddles, or those huge partridge feathers some of us have troubles finding a productive use for. No palmered hackle on the Wool...

Re: Great Wet Fly Fishing Video
I enjoyed his fly selection. I had a bit of a "V8" moment. I have never used a nymph when fishing wets. It makes perfect sense to put a nymph on as my bottom fly. The past couple of days I have been fishing during a Yellow Sally Stone and PMD hatch. From 8AM to about 1PM the up and across ...

Re: olive/claret Guides Choice
I tied some size 12 Dun, Guides Choice Hares Ears. They did well on Arctic Grayling, and Cutthroat yesterday. Not aswell its big brother the standard GCHE, but enough I can say it is a good pattern.
