Thanks guys. Anybody know the thought process behind the "very short" tails?

Re: Lisenring's March brown

If I somehow gave the impression I don't think lisenring's knew what he was doing that is not at all the case. His patterns are fantastic proven fish catchers and he was the master of profile. Just never really thought this was the best way to achieve the same look.

Lisenring's March brown

I honestly never really liked the idea of the way Lisenring went about dressing the abdomen of his march brown. Either wrap the PT fibers then rib it with orange silk, or fine wire, but why both? Twisting the fibers up in the working silk also seemed kind of "klunky" also. I figured he is ...

Re: AP emergers

Great looking flies. I know a rise won't always allow but I much prefer flies like this that just look like a nice tasty bug rather than anything too specific. Is there info anywhere I can read on the swap? I'd love to get involved!

Re: No. 29 pale watery dun question.

Redietz he does say "opossum" but wait....are you saying possums and opossum are 2 different animals? I mean obviously there are multiple kinds or breeds or whatever but I didn't realize there was a distinction. I'm just from the south so I say possum because I don't speak proper English h...

No. 29 pale watery dun question.

When pritt says the most pale buff colored fur from a possum does he mean domestic or Australian? I assume either one would work just fine as I believe domestic is really under rated. Also what is a pale blue grizzled hackle? Is that just standard grizzly or more like a barred blue dun? Thanks fellas!

Re: Carpet muncher caddis

Dubbn....I am too! We don't really have many caddis where I am and the ones we do have are tiny black ones. I had the dubbing first and thought it would make a cool looking case so I looked up some recipes to see what size they used and this was the hook one of them chose. I was just doing it for fu...
