Re: Birdnest from Doug
Here is Cal's "dark" dubbing. Not quite sure if it's supposed to be black or olive but I know it's for imitating large dragon and damsel fly nymphs. It's the same formula as his "natural" but dyed.

Re: Uses for American possum
That's how I get a lot of my squirrel and fox and stuff...but I can't bring myself to skin one of those nasty bastards. I buy mine cheap from a fur trapper locally here. We're really close to Stetson Hat's main shop so lots of people trap around here for a side hustle

Re: Uses for American possum
As much as I hate them and think they are creatures straight from the depths of hell...I actually love American possum skins! I think I'm on my 3rd skin now. As you've noticed they do have a wonderfully translucent quality and you get a wide range of colors from pure white, to grays and browns, to a...

Re: Birdnest from Doug
Sorry, I know this is old but I'm really tired of Facebook so I find myself browsing here more and more. I'm a massive fan or Cal Bird's work. I might have posted them in another thread but I've got several of Mr. Bird's dubbing blends from his personal collection if anyone wants to see them for ref...
