I find 'biotted' bodies very effective. I believe this is mainly down to the obvious rib / segmentation - something I believe is really important in a fly. Is it more effective than a fly ribbed in with other materials or techniques? I very much doubt it. However, I really like the effect of the bio...

I was amazed, when I visited Holland last, how the herons populated the middle of Amsterdam. In the UK they are very shy birds...
