Re: Preparing squirrel tails

Thanks Norman. Davie has had some excellent tutorials lately on material prep/techniques. Very useful.

I modified the link so it shows up as a video in your post (hope you don’t mind).

Ron - Agreed. Reminiscent of MOM flies (Mary Orvis Marbury).

Norm - What is your process of searching and selecting patterns to tye? Your range is dazzling…

PS - do you have any idea what the name means? (Google search pending…)

Re: Carlton

Wicked good! The GP wing is such an eye-catcher (and fish too, I’d imagine).

Thanks for sharing. I am a fan of your wide ranging inspirations. I’ve got a couple Ken Sawata books. Love his style, and sometimes mind boggling materials.

Do you have his wet fly book? Really nice book.

Re: Gary LaFontaine's Sparkle Pupa

I received a copy of “The Feather Bender's Flytying Techniques” for Christmas (excellent book). Beautiful caddis pattern. I’d fish those with confidence.

Nice reference photo John. Thanks for sharing your collection with us.
