Re: Thread Keeper

Brilliant idea Dale. You can also use the tubing for an adjustable strike indicator.

Re: Hares masks

I agree 100%! I do the same thing with my hare masks, and am always amazed by the improvement in the quality, from a simple wash and blow dry/combing. I save the fur that comes off (picking out the clumps with dried blood) then use the fur for my next batch of nymphs/soft hackles. EXAMPLE: https://f...

Re: Art Flick book...

Mike - Thank you for the excellent write-up. I've added this book to my Amazon wishlist. Now I know one to the things I want for Christmas. :D ;)

This is one of the things I love so much about our forum (avid readers & fly fishing history buffs).

Bill,

After looking at the pictures of the natural, I'm tempted to use pale dun raffia for the trailing shuck. I need to play around with this pattern. Looks extremely effective.

Thanks for sharing. ;)

Sweet pattern Norm. It just screams “Eat me!”. I’d love to test this on Brookies or panfish.

Re: Soft Hackles

Wayne,

I really enjoyed reading you post, and hearing about your fishing experience. Are you still doing this on float trips, or from streamside? Did you need to change rods with the Euro setup, or are you still using the same rod as before?
