Those are some nice 'Gills. When I was in North Carolina there was a small pond right in the middle of the impact zone for artillary. On non-firing days I'd slip out there for lunch and catch some dinner plate size 'Gills. Had to watch out for sink holes and cotton mouths, but the blue gill fishing ...

I once saw a friend take his dubbing in a pair of long tapered tweezers. He trimmed the dubbing off with a pair of scissors along the tweezer edges. Laid that in his Clark Block, twisted it up...perfect taper every time. Some might call that cheating, but not me. He's a much better fly dresser than ...

Not in that size range. I just picked up two from Maxxon Outfitter that are 6'6", one in 3 wgt and one in 4 wgt. Kind of medium fast rods. Both throw a 150 grain Skagit head and tips with authority. I'm making accurate 40 foot casts with these little rods with almost no room behind me.

I usually don't fish nymphs, but this one could change my mind. Don't know what it is about the fly, but it caught this fisherman. Well tied, Norm.
