Re: Lisenring's March brown

If I somehow gave the impression I don't think lisenring's knew what he was doing that is not at all the case. His patterns are fantastic proven fish catchers and he was the master of profile. Just never really thought this was the best way to achieve the same look. T12, my comment was tongue in ch...

Re: Lisenring's March brown

Yeah, sometimes old guys who've put in a lot of time studying things can come up with a good idea once in a while. Nicely dressed fly. Should catch really well.

Re: Woodcock and Orange

Lovely wee fly, Bill. I've never coated the silk with head cement before. Interesting look. I'll have to try it. Love the woodcock. That and English Red Grouse are two of my favorite hackles.

Very nice SBS, Ray. You do set the bar high. I like using the working thread for the rib. Method to the madness.

Re: AP emergers

Great looking flies. I know a rise won't always allow but I much prefer flies like this that just look like a nice tasty bug rather than anything too specific. Is there info anywhere I can read on the swap? I'd love to get involved! T12, swaps are usually announced in the Fishing Cabin section. Not...

Holy Cow. You must have some pull, Steve. My copy arrived in yesterday's mail. I agree with Ray. This is a beautifully photographed book and very informative. I can definitely see the influence of flymph tyers, as you mentioned. Well done, my friend.

Thanks for the kind words, guys. Ron, you haven't received your book yet? If you don't get it within the next couple days let me know & I'll look into it. Those who read TS&TAOTS may recognize that many of the fly dressings given in the fly catalogue section are informed by what I've learne...
