I've been kinda busy lately and not had much time for tying or posting, but I have been looking in, and like you Mark, I've been impressed with some of the great stuff we're being treated to. Thanks guys and keep it up! :D

Definitely function. They're designed for a big wave on the Irish loughs. I've never fished on the Irish loughs or fished with this style of fly, so cannot comment from personal experience, but they are reputed to be a "must" for Irish trout at Mayfly time. The style has been around for a ...

No, Bumbles are lightly dressed in comparison and the head hackle is normally blue Jay.
There are also Derbyshire Bumbles, quite different to the modern Irish Bumble.

In the dressing details you say " Tails/ back" am I correct in assuming that you have tied the barbs in at the shoulder and bound them down with the rib?
