Re: Irish Infused.

Alan,
This is awesome! I am glad you had the chance to get out and "experiment"! Beautiful Brookies responding to ultra beautiful flies! Ah, Ireland!
Your tying is incredible Alan!

Re: Irish Infused.

Alan, These Irish Mays are drop dead gorgeous! The words Mega-Flymph" comes to mind. I can just imagine the amount of air or bubbles these hackle fibers will trap. Trout will not be able to refuse them! Brook trout in particular! Please don't forget to post the results you get with these beauties on...

Re: The Yellow Woodcock.

Tom, I love the way the moderately bright yellow dubbing (my interpretation) contrasts with the beautiful, yet much darker woodcock! It's these hard contrasts that make good fish catchers! I am also loving the short and well dubbed body and general shape of it! I strive for these looks in my tying b...

Re: Birdnest from Doug

Bill Lovelace, Wow! I really like your Birds Nest! The color really catches my eye! Also, your pattern is more "open" and I mean that in a very complimentary way! I can see plainly the body and ribbing thru the hackle and the head (thorax more so) is more defined and a bunch more sparse! Wonderful w...

Re: DIY Tool - Cuticle Trimmer/Velcro Brush Tool

Ray, This tool is cool! What a clever idea especially in the Velcro end! I would imagine the other end would slice just about any thread you could throw at it! Good Job! You need to put this with the endless pantheon of really useful tools that your creative mind comes up with! I am very impressed w...

Re: Red Fox Squirrel Hair Nymph

Hi Fellows & Ladies! More junk from my trunk. I have marching headlong into Red Fox Squirrel Hair Nymphs! The latest ones have been tied on swimming nymph hooks. These are my favorite! I have to admit that in the two patterns that I tied and posted earlier (above) without the furry and fuzzy head! S...

Oh my gosh guys....you are hilarious! Keep it coming!
Hobby Lobby is a favorite stop on the crafting trail of my youngest daughter Erica! It is kind of a neat place and you are right....you walk out with more treasures than you actually went in there for! Ah, effective retailing!

Re: Birdnest from Doug

Guys....and Bill, Thank you all for the super comments! This pattern really lives up to its name, "Bird's Nest". I once sent Bill a pattern of similar messiness (maybe a bit more spiky) and called it Bad Hair Day. It seems that the more unkempt they are, the better they fish! I think we've all know ...

Re: Red Fox Squirrel Hair Nymph

I forgot some other interesting stats! The abdomen is 2/3rds the length of the body. The thorax is 1/3 the length of the body. The tail length is approx. 1/2 the body length! I find that this is a bit long for my liking. I sometimes substitute some partridge fibers and make them a tad shorter. It re...
