Re: Adair...

Thank you Ray and Hank. It's good to see flymphs tied again. Under Carl's nice Grey grizzly flymph, the photo posted by Lance of Pete Hidy's flymphs shows how bold the soft hackles are. They're long, up to 3X gape distance and there's numerous turns of hackle. By spiralling the tying thread back thr...

Great tying Karsten.
I'd be confident fishing any of those flies in larger water.
They're true to type and it's good to see the colour bleeding through in the bodies.
Top marks.
The photography is great too.

Re: Wingless Wets | Soft Hackles | Flymphs

The usage I like, rather than strict rules goes like this. Wet flies have wings. Flymphs are constructed with separately spun bodies in the style of James Leisenring and Pete Hidy. Wingless wets are fished wet and don't have wings (!) Soft hackles can be any shit you like that uses softer hackles. T...

Re: Woodie Upper and #5 Yellow

Golden plover skin for an immature wood duck? Who'd part with golden plover?
Sounds to me like a New Zealand colonial deal, your 240,000 acres for these 2 muskets :-).

Re: Woodie Upper and #5 Yellow

Very nice Bill.
I sometimes wonder whether wax should be used on these beautifully coloured silks.
Your tie shows they still work well.

A nice looking fly, whatever you call it!
I'd be keen to use it any day in faster water.
