Re: Micro Fishing Photo Tank - Inexpensive Under Water Photo Set Up

The flash might have gone off on the macro photo. You know the river i took the photo in and the tea colored water mak...

Re: Micro Fishing Photo Tank - Inexpensive Under Water Photo Set Up

Ray, nice. Lately. rather than using a jar I have tried macro photos of soft hackle patterns in our lake or in the river. It is tougher to get good closeup photos because the fly continually is moving. Here are a couple of examples: This first one is in our lake. There is current and small waves on ...

Re: light reflection

I agree with your thoughts on light and flies. I have a few patterns which I purposely use to make use of this idea. My Fade patterns utilize a pearl tinsel rib which adds just enough spots to make use of the bright sun. Also, the Wilted Spinach pattern is great for this as well. It uses a couple s...

Re: A PMD and a Green Drake

On the HF I have used a simpler PMD soft hackle pattern that worked really well for me in size #18.

Re: What rod do you use?

For most of the week in Roscoe I fished my 10' 3 wt greys streamflex (first gen). Before leaving I had the pleasure of casting John Shaner's 10' 3 wt Hardy Zenith. I love my rod and don't intend to buy another...but if I were going to, that rod would be a serious want. I can't say if it was John's ...

Any one on here know where I can obtain Alcock model perfect hooks in 14 and 16 (also model perfect long shank also in 14 and16.
I want to use same hooks and materials that he did to tie and frame the 26 flies he designed.
You should create a new post. Otherwise most will not see your post here.

Re: New member intro

Jean-Luc,

Welcome to the Flymph Forums.

The video looks like you have some lovely French trout waters.

Good luck with the Flymphs and wwingless wets, they do work everywhere.

Thanks, Phil. That is exactly why I am not going. Everytime I have been there I have bought way too much.

Re: Dubbings & Hackles, etc.

You know you guys are just terrible, especially joaniebo, narcobobber, dana, bearbutt, PhilA. It's no wonder I have such a tough time finding fly tying materials to hoard. :D How the hell did I get roped into this?--LOL I was thinking recently how the Coronavirus and other viral nasties are being t...
