Re: soft hackle crayfish pattern
Kevin and William, I am expecting both of you to come down and visit. The fishing is suppose to be better this year and June through the first of August are the best times. As a matter of fact anyone that wants to come down and swing flies for smallies is welcome and I would enjoy having you visit m...

Re: soft hackle crayfish pattern
Old Hat,
I have not thought of tying the legs in a knot. Do you mean tying the knot at the end of legs to make them look jointed. Thanks for the input. Otto

soft hackle crayfish pattern
The local tailwater is not cooperating for trout fishing, so I started thinking about smallmouth fishing this summer. I tied a soft hackle crayfish pattern. Hope it works.

Lance,
Great post and thanks for sharing with us. Is it to be assumed that the tails are the same as the hen hackle used in each fly? Thanks in advance for your reply. Otto

That does not mean that the suture will be dissolved in that time. Plain gut is absorbed by macrophage enzymatic action. Then they added chromium sal...

Re: 3 Olives
Izaak,
Those are wonderful ties and I like your posts. Not to take away from your post but I am attaching a BWO that I use on a local tailwater stream. It is tied on a #28 daiichi hook. Sorry but I used my phone for the picture and the quality isn't as good as your picture. Otto
