redietz, Howdy;

Bob, you sound like the mule that starved standing between bails of hay ...
do a little experimenting and see what works best for you then run with it,
run like that Gump fella.

Re: Wisconsin grouse

Mike62, Howdy; As a Maine native I'm curious as to what the outside world considers a 'Downeaster'. ...and the proper pronunciation is "Pah-tridge". I apologize for the generalization. :oops: No, no! I was genuinely curious; I'm sorry If that came across as 'pointed'; that wasn't my intent...

Mike62, Howdy;

Don't know about the rest of the folks but Maternal Grandfather was from
Prout's neck and was a Walker, the other side of the same branch were Libbys.
For me "Down East" is the run of the smaller counties from York to Washington
inclusive. Me, I was born 'away'.

Oddly enough, that's the only pattern in Pritt that I've tied and fished that I've never caught a fish on. Not sure why; they certainly look deadly enough.
My Mom would say "You are not holding your mouth right." :roll:

Don't know who, don't know when, just know that I've read or heard, most likely read that
the best flies are overdressed by the dresser then trimmed to it proper proportions by the
trout themselves. I think you've given them some wonderful stock to work with.

Hankinsfly, Howdy;

Look good to me, albeit I never tied a winged fly to date. What are you using as
a reference? Pictures, books, youtube, your Uncle's fly box or ...

Re: Soft Hackle Materials - Reference Sheet

Ray, Howdy;

Sadly, I tried Donald's link and his website is no longer on the web.
Also as his birthday is the 4th of July, I've sent him birthday greetings
via email and have only heard back from his nephew (?) 2 years ago ...
nothing this year so, ... I at a loss as to what to say or suggest.
