Re: Pearsall's Thread

This is the first I have heard of this and I just went wild buying on several websites. I believe I will have enough of my favorites for years to come.

Re: Pearsall's Thread

Wow! I have been unable to tie or fish much this season and have been out of touch and did not know this. My search will have to begin for a replacement as I will likely hoard my Pearsall's except for certain classic patterns.

Re: Allgrouse

Great pattern and effect using my favorite gamebird and some silk. When I get back to tying this one is on my short list.

Great blending and creativity! I am very impressed with the effect of the dyed silver badger hen.

Re: Spymph

Great looking fly and I like the consistent body. I am going to have to give the Splymph a try again using turkey since my goose quill attempts have not produced the results I wanted. Just to make certain, by turkey herl do you mean the individual quill from the flank feather? Thanks!

Re: Hare's Ear Brahma Flymph

Great looking fly and I like the look of the Brahma hackle and tail - looks to me like a yellow tinted grouse or woodcock feather.

Re: Tiny Snipe and Purple

Thanks for the comments. The technique for sizing a larger hackle to a smaller fly has been around for quite a while - it takes some experimenting to manipulate the hackle fibers around the fly and initially tying them loosely enough to spin with subsequent tight wraps but the final effect is very s...
