Re: Grouse and Flash

Thanks Dana! It's still a tough thing to find a few moments to set down at my lap top and especially to comb the best forum in the world! I can remember only one other summer that I ran the weedeater more than this past one! This includes keeping the two ponds on our farm slicked back! Plants have r...

Re: Silica Gel for moisture control.....

Holy Cow Hank! I am loving the low humidity but, yikes on the 102 degree temps! You live in a great place Hank! I would like to come see you some day! Here in the Ohio Valley, we are coming off a month or so of high temps and rather oppressive humidity. My materials have been doing great with no dam...

Re: Availability of Spider Materials Today

Very interesting thread fellows! It gets me a-wondering about the skins and furs that I have accumulated! I will treat them more gently than before and I will keep in mind their rarity in today's world! Wow! This is really interesting reading and very informative! Thanks guys!

Re: Silica Gel for moisture control.....

Guys, Thanks for the great responses! I never thought about the need for drying them out after a time they are in service! I am fortunate to pick up a few packets a week where I work from different boxes that come in! I also hoard them and rotate them in and out of the storage boxes that I have. I h...

Silica Gel for moisture control.....

Hello folks! I was wondering if anyone has had any practical experience using silica gel packs for moisture control in either storage boxes that contain feathers, furs, etc. or in rod cases to keep the cork handles and rod socks from getting musty? No, I still do not have air conditioning in my hous...

Re: Mark Libertone's Tool for Creating Spun Bodies

This is very interesting! I did not know this tool existed! I have seen similar marks on William Anderson's beautiful spinning blocks. Does anyone else have marks like these on their blocks?

Re: Grouse and Flash

Oh my gosh fellows! These patterns are stunning! I love how they literally glow in the light! They both would go well on the menu of my little speckled darlings below the waters surface!
Absolutely wonderful guys and so perfectly tied! Bravo!

Re: Stripping barbules from a partridge feather

I'm with Driftless on this one! My Anvil brand small, curved scissors seem to do the trick especially on some of those all too rare, small, well- speckled, and slightly darkish partridge feathers! I have never been too successful in pealing the barbs away from one side of the stem! This is a great t...

Re: Custom Leaders - My next adventure

Ray, Your custom leader thread and all the great pictures are fantastic! I did not realize there were so many formula's out there and you have mastered them quite well! I have a sheet in my "technicals" box that has some very crude but effective leader formulas. None can compare with the dandies you...
