Re: GRHE Dark Version

I've used the "water " method before, but never tried the conditioner. Used a plastic pickle jar cuz I'm just clumsy. Always worked very well with various dubbing materials (Hare's Mask, wool, etc.)I'll try the conditioner now, though. :D

Re: Partridge and Hares Ear (Pete Hidy) - Tutorial (SBS)

Really well done SBS, Ray. And nice job showing the "block".
And John - nice to see I'm not the only one using Fiskars scissors and that type of hackle pliers. Although I don't keep that many tools in my hand at once. :D (I'd probably just hurt myself)

Re: Triple Threat Caddis

Nicely done. I always have trouble making the thorax look right using the split thread. Think I'll try the old dubbing loop now. Thanks for posting.

Re: POP Flies (Tutorial / SBS)

Thanks for posting that SBS, Ray. I think I remember seeing the POP fly on FTF, and made a few copies for the local Brookies. Worked very well, if I remember correctly. Think I'll make a few more now.

Re: DIY Tool - Cuticle Trimmer/Velcro Brush Tool

zen leecher "that one end of the tool is also one used by sewers to cut the thread. Mine came from a fabric store. It does not have the velcro dubbing brush on the end. It does have the equivalent of a bodkin needle on it though." The thing from Joanne's Fabrics is a "Seam Ripper"...

Silk question

Has anyone tied with the Japanese or Italian silks? How do they compare with Pearsall's? Number of strands? Are they usable for split thread patterns? Looking for a substitute.

Looks great. Have never tried woven bodies. Will have to see if I'm coordinated enough.
