Very nice!
I just put a fiery brown cape in my cart. Gonna get some of that yarn too. You gave me an idea to try to tie a Dette Iso nymph. I don't have a recipe, but I have a pic to look at. I think that yarn might work, I'll just have to fake it.

Re: Hen capes
Thanks for posting. I just put in an order. Wished more of the solid colors were available. Can't wait til I get them! I ordered 3 of the colored grizzley capes, (olive, yellow, and ginger) a coachman brown, a Metz furnace and a Hebert Miner medium ginger too. Wow, just got an email that my order ha...

New out of print book for me
I have wanted to get a copy of Mike Harding's book, "A Guide to North Country Flies and How to Tie Them" for a few years now. I finally bit the bullet and bought a copy. Glad to have it in my library. The price range has been a roller coaster over the past 4 years that I've been looking. W...

Re: Kimono/Pearsall coordinated numbers
A trip to a fabric/craft store and the local hardware store set me up to load sewing bobbins with Kimono and YLI silk for my expo tying box... https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49560921428_474520ac58_z.jpg IMGP0028 by William Lovelace , on Flickr a tapered metal pin to fit into the bobbins and a ...

Re: Fishing Discoveries "Ladder Leader" system
I have to admit that I DO NOT use the "Ladder Leader" setup. I've read the book and it looks like a great setup, however, buying the material in the US is rather expensive. I have only located the material in the UK. Sure I could buy it, but being retired and being on a limited budget make...

Re: Variegated Golden Stone Flymph
Thanks for posting this Bill. I have never thought of a double dubbing loop before. As Ray said, that opens up a lot of possibilities. My pea brain is already spinning. (No pun intended)

Re: A tying journal
I use PowerPoint to capture photos of my fly patterns, then use the "Speaker Notes" feature to capture the detailed recipe for each pattern. I've been doing this for many years, so I've got several hundred patterns documented. A few years ago, I made up a photo book with all the photos. L...

Re: The Fly Fishing Bible of Nymphing
Very good! You have to let us know how you like the Orvis fly/tippet box. Right now I am using a thin hard, card. I made slits in both ends and secure my droppers in both ends. No flies attached to the droppers yet, just the loops at one end. John I think I'm really gonna like the Orvis box. I thin...

Nice score! So, seeing how it's almost impossible to find, do you plan to use it or save it?

Dave,
Definitely gonna try it. I mainly fish the north branch, should do just as well there.
