Re: Red Tag
Dubbn,
I always thought that the Brown Hackle Peacock had a red hackle fiber tail as compared to the red yarn on the Red Tag. (One of the naming vagaries being discussed on another thread)

Re: O Spider
Thanks everyone, no creel necessary but a new bigger catch and release net did cross my mind a week ago after a couple of days fishing the pattern and sharing my original supply with a couple of friends.gingerdun wrote:RK,

It has been a long time from my university class on perception but aren"t you comparing additive color of light from the computer screen to subtractive color of light on the flies. Doesn't the additive light color mix only apply if the fly generates light energy?

Re: The Color Orange
Sometimes orange works as an attractor pattern rather than imitating anything specific in the water as can yellow at midday. I fish a fat orange soft hackle tied with many layers of depth ray nylon floss at times in the high lakes when nothing else seeems to work. It often outfishes a standard P&...

Re: Whip finishing question
A consecutive whip finish toward the eye snugly seats the last turn directly under the knot instead of across the face of the other wraps and then under the knot.

Re: Rubber Soles and Rock Snot.
I never leave home without one. The ones I have are all shock cord connected belt holster types. A one hand grab and a shake and you are in business when you feel the gravel being swept out under your feet by the current in a tricky wade. :o Besides they are better than a graphite rod when it comes ...
