Re: Ginger & Chartreuse
Remarkably pattern. I was expecting something a bit more neon in color, but this is very graceful/subtle in tone. The hackle compliments the body beautifully. The ribbing is a beautiful touch.

Re: Foo Foo
" I was pleased with my results on the collar, but I am disappointed in the head of my patterns. " Wayne - You may want to add a simple peacock herl wrap in front of the hackle. This would hide the thread wraps and add a bit more bugginess to the front of the fly. Another approach would be...

Re: Durability
My theory, is that durability may have been more of a problem before the days of the tying bobbin. Before bobbins became popular in tying, the fly was often constructed with a long strand of thread that was simply secured to the tying table with a pin, during the tying process. Re: Foo Foo
Wayne - First off, terrific photos! They may both be "Foo Foo", in your opinion, but I would fish them with confidence. I think the profile of each pattern is very well done. I am inspired by the ribbing job on the first pattern (spot on perfect in my opinion). I have not fished with purpl...

Re: Iron Blue Variants
Super attractive flies, L. I love seeing the hint of the silk core thru the dubbing. Nice balance.

Re: Limey
When I read the name, I was expecting it to be a British themed pattern. You know, something with a red coat and one of them big fuzzy black hats. ( well intentioned humor ) I think this would make a great damsel imitation. I picture fishing this fly on a sinking line in still waters. Cast it up tow...
