Re: Catching big fish..........

Johnno,

I feel no pity for you, even if you have to hike hundred miles without food and water to catch those fish. On the other hand I feel certain that you are a very skilful fisherman and deserve your catch.

Re: Using one fly

I think the capacity of multi-tasking combined with an early start and an ever enquiring mind is a must to become a really skilful angler. I have only the last part and thus will never ever become skilful - no matter how hard I try. I accept this and strive for utmost enjoyment from my passion. My m...

Re: Conditioning

Re: Wax

... After consuming pounds of materials trying every wax recipe in angling literature I have found this to be basically true. In order to produce an effective wax I had to think outside the box and come up with my own recipe. This is tying wax which sticks the thread tightly to the hook and makes a...

Re: "Setting" the hackle?

Mike, This thread is a typical example of why I totally ignore the size of your trumpet and how you use it. You help me connect with our history which to me is as important as to catch fish - or even more so. Thank you. dd Forgot to say that the"Pink Squirrel" looks quite indispensable...
