Re: Clark's dubbing block

Lay the other half of the silk over your carfully-placed dubbing and secure it in the notch with the other end of the thread. Note the little cutting blade that Pete inset into end of the block for cutting thread to the correct length.

Re: Clark's dubbing block

I imagine one could use any textured material for the "sighter" pad as the idea behind it would be to help stop the dubbing adhere to any remnant wax as much as being the background of contrast? So the brass nails are fairly self explanatory, bu what is the chrome eschunion or upolstory p...

Re: Clark's dubbing block

Gingerdun, your willingness to share all these wonderful pics and information has been an enormous boost to my interest in this material. I thought I had all there was on Hidy to (until Jim Slattery releases his material) have in books, articles and conversations, but to have this "pictures ar...

Re: Music

Entertaining idea for a post! There is an astute folk/roots/songwriter/blues, etc station that streams worldwide that I listen to a lot while I tie. It is WUMB out of Univ. of Massachusetts Boston. I happen to be within broadcast range, which is how I discovered it. Or I just listen to the wind and ...

Re: Big Red

Very cool little fly. And Photograph!

Reassuring to hear that I am not the only one who has been making conjugal visits to the fabric store (and knitting shop) lately. :D

Re: After the storm

What I lack in photography and tying skills I make up for with enthusiasm. Just being there and snapping the shutter, and then sharing it, is half the battle. The talent part is in making us feel the excitement, like we're part of it, and that we learned something. And you got that too. Not bad for...

Re: Beyond fly fishing... nothing at all

I just watched this with my 3-year-old artist-granddaughter on my lap. Hard to say who enjoyed it more, we both loved it. Thanks for telling us about it!

Great way to let us in on what you're up to. I loved the photos Dubbn, and the fly. Thanks for taking the trouble to record and post this.
