Better's Usual variant
I've been reading the snowshoe hare posts on the reference tab. I remembered I had dyed a snowshoe foot when I was dying calf tails for Norm Wood Specials. It produced an interesting shade of reddish tan with the expected variations associated with the white natural. I decided to try a Better's Usua...

Re: Doug Does Dubbing
Yep... for a $100 bucks, I'll just hack it off with scissors, or I may try the hacksaw blade...if a good one cost a hundred.. what good can a $3 one be.... I do have some patches of various furs I bought at a grab bag at an IFF show... there is some mink, beaver, otter, and other furs I can't identi...

Re: Partridge and Blue. Mole colour effect

I can use that info here in Florida we have a lot of tannic stained rivers and creeks. Blue was a great color on the Metolius River in Oregon. That last sentenc...

Re: Pearsalls Color Chart
my earlier comments are certainly with tongue firmly in cheek....I do find I really like tying with the Pearsall's Gossamer and I greatly appreciate the history and those dedicated to preserving it.I do tie for the pleasure of the process but mostly for fooling the fish.

Re: Pearsalls Color Chart
I'm envious of all you folks who have done this so much longer than have I... I didn't even know Pearsalls' existed until after they stopped making it and therefore I'll not have collections of these beautiful silk threads....However,... close your ears you purists... but I'm taking White Pearsall's...
