Re: Rainbow Warrior Soft Hackle
Roadkill inspires me with his creative use of materials and use of beads in some of his flies. So I've been working on a pattern I can call mine and came up with this one. I'm calling it a Quill body, hot spot soft hackle. it obviously must be an attractor. It got tested this week on the Crooked Riv...

Re: Frank Sawyer's Nymphs
Phila...I've read all your research into locating a Chadwicks substitute...I'm fascinated by the killer bug and watched video of it being fished in England. From what I can tell, it is supposed to imitate a scud, or caddis larva. What's your opinion and is the Peruvian substitute easily obtainable. ...

Re: Upstream Wet Fly
this definitely would work on the Crooked River in Oregon.. slightly stained water, lots of boulder gardens, can get close to the fish..... looks like Euro nymphing with wet flies to me..

Re: Stripped Peacock Quill Bodies
this is interesting to me.... the behavior of the hackle in the stream. Its pretty hard to simulate the action of a fly in a river by dunking it in a jar... or swimming it in the sink... but, do you veterans of swinging wets want that hackle to cling to the body as in the pictures, or protrude a bit...

Re: Stripped Peacock Quill Bodies
the Polish quills work great.. been using them on jig flies, and small mayfly nymphs for a couple years. I also will strip my own quills, by using an eraser to remove the barbules(sorry not feather tech savvy) and have also used pens to color the natural peacock. I have found the dyed peacock feathe...

Re: Hares Ear and Partridge
I'm so impressed with the beautiful photography on this forum. The time and effort you guys put into this work blows me away. I've not found any website that has the wealth of shared information and skills as this one and it inspires me to tie more wet flies..... now how do I find time to fish with ...
