Re: Still raining......

And yes, it's still raining. The first 12 days of the month and we've already had 5.5" of the stuff. It was pouring down at 5am this morning, too. If it ever lets up I'll go check the rain gauge. The damn lawn still thinks its May! ...irritating; I'm tired of mowing grass! Wait... it gets bett...

Re: Podcast

Do you continue to use a traditional fly line, and when do you prefer that if so? I've read the trout it...

Yeah, I'm definitely behind you a couple decades fishing wets.
Are you trying to say that REE is old?
If so, he would be right. I'll be 77 next month.
77-schmeventy seven! You're young at heart! New eyes! New outlook! You're going to live forever! Go fish! ...a lot!

My first impression was, Bubblegum. If Bazooka tied flies this is what their version of a Tup's would look like. That's the most impeccable bubblegum I've ever seen, Norm; too pretty to chew.

Re: Organized Plucking?

I usually plucked out of anger. I hate roosters, I really do. The bastards come at you when you aren't looking and they can do some damage. Most of the time, I'd get nailed, stop the bleeding, and then turn around and punt the SOB across the yard. When I'd had enough of one of them, I'd bring out th...

Re: Tomah Jo 1885

I totally agree the the pattern has changed through the years. Many years ago on the Penobscot River I saw many older gents fishing variation’s of this pattern for Atlantic salmon. Lou The Tomah Joe is a lost pattern up here. Sure, it lives, somewhere in the mists of time, and the memories of certa...
